   Japanese hospitality is based on the Japanese cultural concept, “Ichigo-Ichie”, which is often linked with

   Chanoyu, the Japanese tea ceremony. It represents a spirit of hospitality and can be translated as

   “We have to make the best of this chance, because we may not have another.

   We have to cherish this moment and treat everyone whole-heartedly”. In the hope of helping people

   welcome their guests with beauty and grace and share wonderful time with each other, we decided to

   incorporate this traditional concept of “Ichigo-Ichie” into our products and introduce them to the public.

   Kigtagawa Utamaro and Katsushika Hokusai – two well-known Ukiyo-e painters who painted masterpieces in

   the streets during the Edo era and lived their lives surrounded by beautiful Ukiyo-e women. Even after 250

    years, contemporary artisans still hope to go back in time and meet those masters with much adoration and 

   admiration. They still seek to become closer to them and communicate with their souls through creative

   processes, and this inspired them to work on Yuzen Ukiyo-e Folding Screens “TAKUMI” for the world 250 years

   from now to see.

Yuzen Antique-style Folding Screens “TAKARA”

   Yuzen Antique-style Folding Screens “TAKARA” was created based on the idea to provide people with the

   joy of welcoming sensible guests who has a true love for beautiful music, sublime literature, and wonderful

   paintings and treating them with a Yamato-e designated as a national treasure and an important cultural

   property in Japan. This is how Yuzen Antique-style Folding Screens “TAKARA” was born.

   Although “TAKARA” may not be exactly at the same artistic levels with those by Tawaraya Sotatsu or Ogata

   Korin, we are convinced that the beautiful folding screens with a gold background that represents various

   artisan skills of today will become a treasure of any household.
